Hi all,
I have a DIR-825 router. (firmware 2.05EU , 22, Dec, 2010)
I connected a USB drive (http://wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=470) of 1 TB to the shareport.
The device spins up fine.
Then I installed the SharePort Utility on my PC (WIN7 32-bit ultimate) and allowed the program to pass thru my firewall.
But whatever i do, the drive doesn't appear in the utility. Nor does any other device i connect, not even the most simple USB stick.
Does anybody have an idea what i am doing wrong?
Regards, Joris.

What version of SharePort are you using?
Try v4?
Are you connected via wired connection to the 825?

Thank you for your fast response!
Sharepoint is v3.1.0 R1.
I'm connected wireless to the router with my PC ...

Try SP v4 and see if this helps.
Uninstall v3 first with out any USB devices connected before you install v4.
Also review the routers logs during a reboot with either USB device connected. It should post logs when it detects a USB device is attached.

I will try it now.
-
Disable all security SW on the PC while installing the new one.

Still doesn't work i'm afraid ...

Is the router logs posting any thing when the USB drive is connected and the router rebooted? There should be a few entries regarding detecting a USB drive. If your not seeing this, something isn't working. Ensure DEBUG log option is selected.
If the router isn't even detecting a simple USB flash drive nor the other drive. I would recommend that you phone contact DLink support, level 2 or higher and inquire about this and see if they can help you with this. I have been told that 500Gb is the max supported size for USB drives on any of the routers models. However my 2Tb WD USB drive seems to work on a few models I have accept for the DIR-645 which I've called in about already.
Keep us posted.

When i plug the drive into the router, the led in fornt lights up.
So it does detect a device being connected.
How do i switch the debug loggin on? Couldn't find that one in the settings pages of the router ...
