Title: Problem with mac osx filesystems but not NTFS?
Post by: tinvi on November 29, 2012, 07:16:42 PM
Hi all,

First my problem: Accessing a usb stick/hdd formated with a mac filesystem through a dir-825 router.

If i try to access a usb drive formated with FAT or NTFS i have no problems at all, however if I reformat the same drive to any of the "Mac OSX Extended (Journaled/encrypted,..)" filesystems all i can see in the shareport software is something called "EFI" with only 196MB free space. (dont know what this is)

I'we tried looking for similar questions, but i could not find any.
Does anyone know of a solution or something i could try?

I also tried the silex SX Virtual Link 3.11.1 software, but this could only see the router but not the usb drives.

My gear: I have a DIR-825 RevC with firmware 3.0 (Lastest version) and im using the lastest shareport version i could find (4.2.0R1). Im running a macbook air with  OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

Thanks for your help

Not sure if SP supports any OSX proprietary file systems other than FAT32 and NTFS.
I also use OSX 10.6 and 10.8 and all my drives are formatted for FAT32 or NTFS file systems.
