We purchased a Dlink 655 for its secure spot features only to very disappointedly discover that feature discontinued.
All we needed was a subset of SecureSpot's features.
* Log URL's as issued from selected machines on our LAN.
That is we wanted to see what websites the kids were accessing.
We have spent hours trying to get wallwatcher to work and that is not the solution we
are really looking for.
We want to the router to have an easy to read URL history, such as we saw online before
we bought the DLink 655.
* Does DLINK have any product like this with this URL monitoring feature built in?
Please advise.

DIR series routers have WEB logging under access control. SecureSpot is no longer supported and has been discontinued.

Thanks for your reply.
Looking at Access control we see it only allows one to filter IP addresses. What we want to do is first see if there is any use of the internet we don't want happening and then deny access.
So what we need is a log of URL's visited via this router.
We purchased the unit because its said SecureSpot covers this requirement. Now that SecureSpot is gone
how do we log URL's visited via this device?
Any suggestions welcome.

You would need to use Web Logging under Advanced/Access Control.

Ok, thanks for the response. I've >> added a policy. And have >> turned on Web Log monitoring.
In logs I can now see it collecting activity on the machine I set the policy for which is perfect.
The next question is there any utility that can read the outgoing IP numbers destination into human
readable URL web addresses?

Domaintools can tell you what the IP addresses long to. The logs are not recording the URL?

There are some free tools here for looking up IPs:
