My DNS-323 has been running pretty well for the past year or so.
Woke up this morning and noticed that the left most Drive LED is glowing a light purple / violet color.
Looked this up in the manual, but there was only mention of amber color, for failed drives.
Question 1: Is purple a valid status indicator for my drive? If not, I'm guessing the LED is misbehaving or something...? If it is valid, what does it mean??
Question 2: How do I verify if both drives are still ok?
Thank you.

Search the forum for threads on pink, purple & white LEDs - the LED emits blue light when driven with a voltage of one polarity and amber when the polarity is reversed, but, if driven with a pulse train it emits both colors, and the resulting shade varies with the duty cycle of the pulse train.
It is "un-documented" and there are various theories as to what it may mean, including one that suggests that there is no available space.
