Title: Dir-655 Showing Xbox wireless when it's connected by Cat5
Post by: Big Kahuna on December 16, 2012, 04:49:21 PM
I have tried all firmware and go into router settings and it shows it's sending a wireless signal to Xbox.  I have it connected via Cat5 cable.   :o

You sure the LAN cable is fully connected to the xbox? Swap cables?
Disable the WiFi on the xbox if you have a slim? Disconnect the wifi adapter if you are using a xbox USB WiFI adapter?

Yep it's plugged in.  Disconnected wifi via the router.   I think I got it now.  Don't know why it was showing.  Hmmm!!!!

I know that having the USB WiFi adapter and the LAN is not support at the same time on the 1st gen xbox so it should throw up a message stating this if you attempt to try that.

I have a Gears of War Console and once the ethernet cable is connected it automatically shuts off wireless.
