Title: Bypass shareport interface ?
Post by: Nicoboy on December 17, 2012, 04:57:15 AM
I would like to use a HD connected to the USB port of my DIR-505 as a network drive but Shareport interface is not very friendly user according to me.
=> I would like to know if it is possible to bypass this interface and to use the HD as a 'normal disk' in windows explorer.

Thanks for your help.

No, the 505 doesn't make the USB drives visible by SMB or other network drive interfaces.

I presume the 505 needs to be in AP or Host router mode to test this.

No, it doesn't.  I tried that.
