Title: port forwarding - again
Post by: craig on April 22, 2009, 02:34:58 AM
Seems like there are a lot of problems with port forwarding, but no solutions.

To keep it simple, I'd like to forward Warcraft 3, so the port is 6112. If I use Virtual Server - which is easy if I have only one port - it works like clockwork. However, if I use a similar procedure with Port Forwarding, the port fails to be open. How can I get this to work with port forwarding?

I'm using 1.22b5 firmware. I have no antivirus or software firewalls.

Thank you.

Use Windows PnP. But if you are double NATted that won't work ofcourse and yuo need to set ports manually on the internet gateway.

I'm a noob. I figured it out - I'm behind two routers bottom router being a DMZ of the top router. However, the bottom router got a DHCP instead of the static IP I set for the DMZ.

I've verified that both Virtual Server and Port Forwarding works.
