Hello to all,
I would like to know, is it possible to share one usb 3g modem, to all wifi and wired PCs? Or only on one?
Is 3G option supported in future?
Which USB modems are working?
Best regards, Shadow_Fi.

I suppose it acts as internet gateway for all connected devices. But I'm not sure...
There is no definite list available AFAIK. USB 3G support for the US models/networks is not very large at the moment.
Seach the 655 board to find all the references currently present .

It acts just like a regular internet connection. The Gateway does it's job the way it's supposed to and always will. So yes, it will allow you share your internet.

I know the T-Mobile USB Dongle works perfectly, tried it once when I had my DIR-655 away with me and used my dongle to share the internet in my caravan ;D

Has the option to use the USB port as a mode been actually removed, or just renamed?
It makes sense that it would be removed for the fact that one could effectively use it as in a remote location in place of a femto cell which makes it a very cheap alternative. Wouldn't really make sense to remove lan side routing, or not add VLAN support or what not but have an option for USB internet that could be used in place of a femto cell.

Good to know. This firmware is not an upgrade whatsoever, but a downgrade. Won't be upgrading until I see all the features, including lan side routing, put back in, too many features are being removed, dropping it from the competitive line.

It's EOL anyway.

I share my wireless modem connection with all users. I do it a little different though. I have a Cradlepoint router housing the wireless modem and hardwire it to the DIR-655. It works great.
