Title: bug in firmware 1.06+: web interface crashes from bittorrent page
Post by: jackbrown on April 22, 2009, 09:01:19 AM
I reported this bug to tech support but never got a human reply:

Multiple users report that after installing firmware 1.06, if you leave a web browser (or firefox at least) open on the bit torrent monitoring page for more than a couple of minutes, the web interface for the dns323 crashes; you can no longer log into the box without physically shutting it down and restarting it.

The NAS itself continues to function just fine (as a mapped network drive, for example), but the web interface is dead until a restart.

Is there any suggestion that Dlink has fixed this bug with the 1.07 release? I doubt it, since there is nothing about it in the release notes.

i have noticed that when this happens, it can be reset using the refresh button on the NAS Monitor Utility for windows sidebar. Version 1.003

http://philwigglesworth.net/BlogEngine.NET/post/2008/10/06/DNS-323-Windows-Vista-Gadget.aspx

sometimes it takes a few clicks but then suddenly its back, not sure how/why it works but it saves a hard reboot and the subsequent rechecking of the torrents in progress.

I am just about to upgrade to the new version of NAS Monitor 1.004 hopefully it dosnt lose this function
