hello. I explain my problem. I bought a dns-320l and WD20EARX but the NAS does not recognize the disc. My computer recognizes the disc and it works fine.
I tried changing the slots but it did not start.
can you help me?
Sorry for my english.

Did you let the DNS-320L format the HDD or was the HDD formatted in another device?

Hi JavaLawyer.
The drive was formatted on a PC with NTFS and also was formatted with a popcornhour A200 with ext3 with no problems. but when inserted into the dns-320l does not turn the hdd LED on, so i can`t do anything.
the disk does not rotate.
Thanks for your aswer

At any rate, you shall let NAS format the drive(s) under Disk Management.
Apart from ext3 filesystem it needs it's own layout of partitions and GPT partitioning scheme.
You will be better off with a blank disk.
MBR partition table may well be your problem at the moment.
Either use WD tools to write zeroes or just delete partition table with Windows or other OS of your choice.

Thaks priitv8 for your answer.
The drive finally works. The problem was a bad connection between the drive and de NAS.
Thanks again.

HDD wasn't seated properly (i.e. physical connection)?
