Title: OMG!! Help
Post by: carlgarton on January 01, 2013, 06:01:01 AM
DNS320 with 2x2TB Drives on Raid 1. Everything was working fine until I decided to turn on UPNP. It took about 3 days to complete and then I disabled it again. This is the only change I have made recently. All my shares have gone. Admin page is saying I have used 0% which was 85% - Where has all my data gone? I am trying auto delete software etc. but am I missing something. Same old I am feeling, I purchased for complete data backup (Raid 1) security - Erm, I am panicking - Photos going back years etc. etc. etc. etc. Please help.

Do you have a backup of your data? RAID-1 provides redundancy in the case of a hard drive failure, but is by no means a backup.  Please see the following sticky post: DNS-320 - Data Backup vs. Redundancy (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=46509.0)

If all else fails, here's a post describing a data recovery procedure using third party software: DNS-320 - Data Recovery (Windows PCs) (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=41400.0). You should only use this procedure as a last ditch effort, as this may make your hard drives unreadable in the DNS-320.
