We recently moved and my 2 DNS-323 Raid 0 drives will not be seen by either my Mac or PC (same machine with bootcamp). It worked fine before I packed it up. I can only assume it is an IP issue.
I have installed the Easy Search Utility on the PC side and it doesn't see the drives either.
I do not know the IP address that I previously used. I have also tried resetting the drive using the pin hole on the back.
How do I get my mac to see these drives? I can use the PC side to set it up, but I work on the mac side.
Thanks!!

I'll presume you have the DNS-323 wired directly to one of the rear ports of your router. If you log into your router web UI, you should be able to see the IP address of the DNS-323 in the router's device table. You can use the IP address to reference the DNS-323 from your Mac/PC.
You should also make sure you don't have any IP address conflicts from other devices using a static IP address that's the same as the DNS-323 or from IP addresses reserved through the router.
Are you able to log into the DNS-323 web UI through Safari?
Assuming you visited the DNS-323 web UI before you moved, the browser history should indicate the old IP address.

I have the two DNS's plugged into a switch, the switch then to my desktop. accessing the internet wirelessly. wireless router is in a different room.
is there a switch web ui? (I can try accessing the router ui later, owner isn't home to show me).
there are no static ip addresses being used here. i can see the ip addresses of the network and the ethernet connection from my mac. i don't understand how I would use that number to reference the dns-323.
i cannot log into the dns 323 web ui via safari because i never accessed it via my mac and I just had the pc drive replaced and reconfigured. no browser history.
thanks for helping me with this!!!

If you know the DNS-323 IP address you can directly map to Volume_1 on your Mac:
click Command-K to bring up the Connect to Server window and enter smb://[IP_ADDRESS]/Volume_1

I do not know the IP address for the DNS 323...
I have tried to use the connect to server, but it cannot find it that way either.
I have also tried plugging the drive directly into the computer, that doesn't work either.
how do I find out the ip address? it won't see it, so how do i get this? I would think resetting would do the trick, but it didn't seem to work. perhaps there is a process to it that I did not do correctly.

As I mentioned earlier, if the Easy Search Utility is not working for you, logging into the router web UI in which the DNS-323 is plugged into will list the IP address of all devices connected to the router, including the DNS-323.

So we connected the DNS 323 directly to the mac airport router (which is the wireless router, not the router that is directly connected to the internet. the one that is directly connected to internet does not have any ports available...goes straight to the airport.)
used the airport utility on the mac and NOTHING showed up. ugh!
there is a USB port on the back of these drives, if i plugged that right into the computer, would it see the drive? (I would need to go buy one, as I don't have one on hand, which is why i am asking and not just trying it.)
any other ideas about how to make the drives visible to the computer? i can plug it (ethernet) straight into any machine too (PC or mac) does that give me any other options?

Not sure how you would do this with a mac but there is a small program for windows called netscan that will scan the network and find the IP addresses of everything there.
Once you have found the IP address you put it into the address bar of your browser like this http://192.168.0.xx where the numbers are the actual numbers for your DNS-323 that you found with the scanner program.
That should open the login screen for your NAS which will allow you to check its state.

When you have more than one router in a network, it's very easy to end up with more than one network - because that is what routers do, they link separate networks together - and if your NAS is on one network and your computer on another, they are not going to talk to one another unless the router is specifically configured to permit it.

USB doesn't work that way - did you notice that the USB port on the drives is an "A" port, same as that on your computer rather than a "B" port like you would find on a printer? USB is a host/peripheral technology, with the "A" port on the host and the "B" port on the peripheral, you cannot connect two hosts directly or two peripherals directly.
You can plug it directly into another machine via the ethernet and make it work provided you know how to set static addresses on both, and to do that you'll need to know what address the NAS is at, which I believe takes you back to square one.
My suggestion is that you set the NAS up as DLink intended it - plugged into the back of a router and try to connect to it from a computer also connected directly to the back of the same router.

Enable the DHCP server in the router. Let your PC/Mac grab a dynamic address. Run the search utility after rebooting the 2 x DNS323.

the router is set to DHCP, rebooted all and nothing is working.
UGH!

We have made progress!!! I can now see the drive via the web based utility, but now have no idea how to see it on my mac as a hard drive.
i went to the "Connect to server" and typed in the ip address that is showing in the web utility and get nothing.
Please help, almost there!!!!

Did you use this format: smb://[IP_ADDRESS]/Volume_1

Glory B!!!
Thank you all for helping!
We have a connection!!
