Title: DNS 320 disappeared
Post by: sar02 on January 10, 2013, 02:09:28 PM
So HELP!

Had DNS 320 all set up and working for couple of months. After no apparent changes to network I can no longer see the drive on the network and when I connect directly with an ethernet cable and enter its static IP in my browser the "web UI" begins to load but never gets to a stage where it displays the "admin" label or lets me log in at all.

Italics : Now not entirely sure that that's how I should be going about this but it appears to produce a different result, i.e. without the cable connected to laptop I cannot contact the DNS at all....

Seriously running out of ideas now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How did you connect before, cable or wireless?

If it was wireless have you checked your wireless router - if cable try a new cat6 cable.

The other thing is to try the reset at the back of the unit.  Note, if you use the 'reset to factory defaults' you will loose you settings but your data will remain intact.

PCs were connected through wireless, a bluray player was on a wired connection. //Nevermind!

Ugh I've just solved it. After spending at least an hour and a half making sure there were no IP conflicts and checking settings etc. I discovered that the power for the gigabit switch had been removed.

Unbelievable.

Thanks for your suggestions
