i found out i cannot set any PASV port in DNS-323, my ftp server doesnt work thur router now, what i sould do? i am using DIR-655 router as well, thank you!
-
Since you cannot set the passive port range, you are effectively limited to active ftp, which will probably only work on port 21 (this is dependent on the router if any at the client end)
-
sigh.. there's a port setting but don't have pasv mode.. i did try to install fun_plug but it doesnt work
-
Have you tried my solution HERE (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=e8d63ccdc54743387e0440698aa4129d&topic=4892.msg29111#msg29111)

What makes you think that because you can't set a pasv port range you can't port forward?
-
i have try fun_plug, but doesn't work
i did put the pure-ftpd.sh to /ffp/start/ and set it correctly, but still can't list the file, i am using port 22288 and 22289-22900 for pasv port, i am currently using dir-655 and did port forward also, any suggestion? thanks

yes, dlink i love you!!!!
Why thank you! Lol.
In all seriousness, this is a support forum so if you are here to flame you will be removed.
As a side note PASV port ranges will be editable in 1.08.
-
finally the support appear, and glad to hear that will be pasv mode setting support in 1.08, thank you!!!!!!
but when will available?
-
Most routers as the DIR-655 will recognize the passive ports automatically with its FTP ALG - no need to forward them.
At least earlier Firmwares of DNS-323 used the ports 65501-65510 TCP for passive transfer. You can try to forward them.

have u try??

The range in 1.06/1.07 is much much larger than the 10 ports you listed. One day I decided to test it out and after I got past 4,000 ports, I got bored and stopped.
Best is to wait for 1.08 and deal with it until then. It's futile to even bother.

DNS-323 is connected via DIR-655 on Port 40 as my 1st FTP already uses Port 21.
No passive ports forwarded but it should work in passive mode.

(It is only a folder to test special characters)

Just FYI- D-Link's official recommendation to secure FTP is to establish a VPN to your home network (it's on the box). If you can VPN, you won't need to open any ports on your router or bother with changing the FTP port on your 323. PASV mode wouldn't be required. Just a thought..
