Title: Can I flash the DIR-635 FW onto my DIR-615?
Post by: ryuker16 on January 16, 2013, 12:33:39 PM
So I was replacing a bad cap on my DIr-615 and noticed I have the 635(or 625?) board except there is no USB port or 3rd antenna soldered on.

I soldered on a 3rd antenna from an old linksys router but don't know if it's working.

If I flash the DIR-635 FW(I'm using DD-wrt) will it work fine and enable the antenna to work? Will having a third antenna even be beneficial at all for range and signal strength?

I plan on flashing the the DD-wrt firmware for the 635 if that makes any difference.

Well, is the third antenna active at least?

One the 615? I don't know. It would take some test equipment to check it out. I would presume that it would be either disabled on the board or in FW.
