Title: Wireless N Speed Issue....
Post by: sport404 on April 26, 2009, 06:46:22 PM
So my connection on my windows xp machine shows a good/very good connection and often the speed shows like 160Mbps to 240Mbps. When I look at the wireless clients in the router it shows it bouncing around between 24 and 54Mbps. Anyone else experience this issue or have any tips? I am running the A2 hardware with 1.20 firmware.

Thanks!

1: get the 1.22beta05 firmware
2: what other devices are connected?
3. Need much more info on router settings, and NICs used.

I am running a dwa-140 for my client. I have auto 20/40. Wireless mode is N/G , but during my test I only had a N client connected. I will force wpa2 and aes tonight. I am running WPA/WPA2 auto at the moment. Where may I find the firmware that you mentioned? I tried 1.21 and had a lot of issues, which is why I went back to 1.20

Thanks!!!

Have you read this 'sticky': http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=616.0
It sums up the requirements for 300 mbps.

Hi Eddie,
I have read the sticky on 300Mpbs. I switched everything over to WPA2 and AES. My windows xp is still reporting over 100Mbps but the router is showing below 50Mbps. I will try the firmware update. Can I ask why there is this 1.22 update but it's not posted on the site. Is it confirmed by the mass to be working well?

Thanks!

I can only think of environmental issues or something going on physically with the antenna. Last person to with a problem like this was suggeting it was something with the dlink, but holding back information, later stating and EddieZ figuring out it was the 3rd party antenna this person had hooked up to the gateway.
