Title: Question about FTP Access
Post by: gabberkopf on January 22, 2013, 04:47:18 AM
I have some folders on my NAS with FTP access. They have the following settings:

read/write: all accounts
ftp anonymous: none

I made a port forwarding on my router, so I can access these folders from external.

But now I have anonymous access on these folders! I don't need to login and still have read/write access on these folders.

I thougt if I disable ftp anonymous, login is required with one of the defined accounts?

Strange part is, that I only can see some of the folders on which have activated FTP:

TimeMachine
P2P
iTunes (Itunes Librarie)
and Backups (self created and needed for Windows 7 Backup)

Did you create some users on your NAS? I did and was able to configure FTP access which required to login via account name and password on my FTP client.

Yes I have some accounts and groups.

The folder i can access from outside are all system created or used for windows backup as you see below. I checked the ftp rights on these folders. Anonymous access is disabled and read / write permission is on for all accounts. But I can still access these folders anonymously.
If a create a new folder an do the same settings, I cannot access it anonymously.
