The DG834G is a wireless G router, which will have some serious throughput issues and really can't compare to the Wireless N values that many users post in this forum. If you are looking to maximize throughput on your DNS-320, I recommend upgrading to at least a wireless N router. You'll realize the benefits very quickly.

What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?
What is the highest wifi mode the WiFi on the PC and host router supports? G or N?
I recommend that you refer to Netgear for support information and configuration of the main host router for optimal WiFi and wired setup.
I recommend that if your going to be doing or want to see good file xfer speed performance between the DNS and your PC, that you switch from WiFi on the PC and connect it directly via LAN cable. Also to help increase speed on the LAN and to reduce router interferences and un-necessary processing, install a external Gb Network switch after the router, then connect the DNS and PC via LAN cables to the switch.

the maximum speed of wifi is 3.5 mo/s so it is not that bad !
change you rooter or plug it with a cable, check if your computer is wifi N as well
