Title: Firmware 1.0.2b01 ???
Post by: sbrbot on January 25, 2013, 12:53:13 PM
What is this on hungarian D-Link site (http://ftp.dlink.hu/dns/dns-320L/driver_software/)? Is this firmware version 1.0.2b01? Just to note; 1.0.1b03 is 31,8MB and this one is 41,6MB? That's big difference in filesize (who knows what else)!

Unless your DNS-320L was purchased in Hungary, I strongly caution against installing this firmware. Some firmware is modified locally to address regional differences and possible hardware differences.

Hi,

FTP service is running on your NAS?

Yes, running, but I can use just via Total Commander.
The explorer or the safari can't connect to the NAS with ftp protocoll...

It is funny.. I dont have no idea. It have to work, because TC uses the same protocol as windows explorer for example. Do you have any error message?

Installed in spanish dns320L and working ok. For now, p2p doesn't freeze, like in previous releases.

I installed new firmware on "Croatian"  ::) version of NAS. One can call this NAS however he wants, but I don't believe that there is asian, us, spanish, hungarian, croatian ... version of DNS-320L (DNS-320L is black one and DNS-320LW white one). Technically, that's the same device! I installed new firmware version 1.02b01 on my 320L and am very satisfied with it so far. The web interface seem to me is a bit more responsive, and there are some new features.

New firmware v1.02

UPnP service sn now called Multimedia Services (much better IMHO)

In previous firmware 1.01b03 for torrent client libtorrent 0.15.10.0 was used. In new firmware 1.02b01 libtorrent 0.F.0.0 (?, probably 0.16.0.0) is used. So, there is change in torrent functionality behind.

Many thanks for your feedback. Very useful. Seems that the upgrade is worth it given the new features provided, especially the embedded video and music player.  :)

(1) The firmware is beta
(2) Although this firmware version may work perfectly well on US released hardware, the version was not publicly posted on D-Link US sources (only Hungary). If you choose to upgrade, do so with caution: DNS-320L - Firmware Do's and Don'ts (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50766.0)

Sad to say that p2p 100% cpu problem stills there with 1.0.2 b1 over A2

When you restart NAS is it still 100% CPU usage?

When you disable and enable P2P (torrent) service is it still 100% CPU usage?

When you delete all torrents within P2P service (with files behind) is it still 100% usage?

The 100% cpu behaviour is not as like before. It looks like it corrects some minutes leter.
But 4 torrents should not do this...

Although CPU usage during P2P usage is at 100%, whose to say that CPU cycles are not shifted to other processes when new requests are posted to the NAS. Do you know for sure (empirical or otherwise) that the 100% CPU usage is truly impacting performance on the NAS? Is there a performance difference with general DNS-320L usage when the P2P is in-use vs. idle/disabled?

I was informed by D-Link to hold off from using firmware version 1.02b01 (as per my earlier posts). This firmware version was intentionally not released in the U.S. due to issues that arose during testing. A new build is currently under evaluation.

Hang in there, a new release is forthcoming...

Do you have any other info about new official firmware version? When we can expect it and what will be new features implemented? Is our wish list communicated to them and will something from it be implemented in new version?

I didn't mean about new releases (of course, it would be exposed here). I thought maybe you had some insider info. I got the impression that you have closer connection with D-Link development team. However, thx.

I have a conduit to ask pointed questions to the respective product teams and was informed that the next release was undergoing testing and was due out soon. No more specificity than that.
