What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

Is the router and wireless device rebooted after applying the change?

I presume that just changing the wireless settings on the router doesn't need a reboot of the router entirely. However devices do as they might not be aware of the change.

Glad its working.

Enjoy.
