Title: DNS setup Hi
Post by: quovadis on February 12, 2013, 10:41:45 AM
Hi , Can anyone advise what I use to populate . My  DNS  ends with a NET address ...I dont see this on the drop down|? will this force me to use one that DLINK wants? (payable) ?

My dns server is through dynsdynamic .... in the field for host  is my address  enough or should it be www.dynsdynamic or http or ?

Username is what ? my log in to dynsdynamic or ?

Why is the password field pre poplulated ? what is this password and where does it come from?
I can overwrite so no issue ... but odd that its populated without any instruction?

Why is the cost to support 10pence a minute? . They were very very helpful and patient in helping me , but over the last three days I have spent 210 minutes on line @10p .... through no fault of my own ... on top of the router costs its a bit much I think ......especially as its marketed as plug and play (| or near damn it )

Are you referring to the Maintenance/Dynamic DNS options?

Reviewing the Dynamic DNS options under Maintenance seems to only have preset options for the various services listed and I don't see an option to enter in a different or custom DNS service information here.

User name should be the account User and Password that was created and used to log into that DNS service.

If this is a new router, phone contact should be free initially I would think.

I would check on free phone support, if not, try to email DLink support and see if you can get help there.
