Title: dir-505, where to configure shareport?
Post by: sz1999 on February 13, 2013, 09:53:49 PM
just bought from costco, updated to 1.06 and configure it as AP, everything seems working until I start to try shareport. Under setup page, there is no sub page for media server and storage, I only see setup wizard, wireless setup, and LAN setup. what is going on? I plug in a USB flash drive, it keeps flashing, it looks like dir-505 doesn't know the flash drive.

You perhaps answered your own question - if the DIR-505 doesn't mount the USB drive, it won't show under Storage. There is no real configuration of SharePort, other than you can change the port number and create logins. After a bit the USB drive should show up as connected storage. Is the drive FAT32 formatted?
