Hi, i have couple of computers on my network and 2 of them have N wireless cards but i am unable to get them connected to router with 802.11n. They always connects with 802.11g. Can't Dir-635 manabe 802.11g and 802.11g at same time?
thanks

What happens if you Lock it to N only>?
-
on N only mode none of my laptops connects. One of them has
Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
other one
Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 5100AGN
-
Are they running the latest drivers?
Also lock the Channel Width to 20
-
yes both have latest april drivers. My old laptop used to connect just fine to DIR-655 but that router fried and i had to get this one.
-
i forgot to mention Channel 20 did not make any difference. Both failed to connect
-
also router has latest firmware too.

You should note that the router (DIR-615) is a 2.4Ghz only radio broadcasting router (is this the true model you have?)
Both the Intel WiFi adapters are in the Intel Centrino product range. Sometimes, you may require the Intel "management" software in order to get the laptops to connect to the router. It seems that often, the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) system. will fail to see the router's wireless "signals." The router SSID will just not show up in the WZC "Available networks..." list.
Also, it needs to be noted that the forum "sticky" note on the 300Mbps speed access is completely true. These Intel Centrino wireless adapter may only get 130Mbps wireless N speeds. In order to get the faster speeds, you will require a router that will do the 5.0Ghz radio frequency.

please check my topic title formodel. both cards sees ap in any mode i have no problem with that and my setup follows sticky topic advice

Having the same problem as OP - have tried Intel Pro Set Software to no avail.

I am using: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 5300AGN

resolved issue by enabling n and g only, and ensuring 'wmm enable', 'extra wireless protection' and 'wlan partition' were selected in advanced wireless menu settings - now connecting 270mbs - dropping back to 108mbs at distance- good enough.

WOW! you have made my day mate! Thank you very much!

small note, do not tick wlan partitioning. if you do, you can't connect other clients
