I have had my 825 rev a for several years now and it has performed better than any other home wireless router that I have owned. I recently rearranged furniture and am needing to use the wireless more than before and am wondering if I should update the firmware or not. I typically don't do anything unless I have a problem but I see that I am several revisions behind. At the same time, I don't want to cause any problems because my router has been rock solid, not loosing connections ever. I had a linksys that I had to reboot every few days but this 825 just works. So should I leave it alone or update?
Thanks,
jab

IF IT WORKS, DON'T FIX IT! ;D
Placement of the router is crucial to good operation and coverage with in the building. Central and on the main floor is preferred.
Other problems can be caused by external conditions as well.
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out. How many?
If your wanting more coverage along with using the 825, I recommend reviewing these to maybe include with in your building:
D-Link DAP 1360 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/support/product/dap-1360-wireless-n-open-source-access-point-router), 1513 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/access-points-range-extenders-and-bridges/dap-1513-wireless-n-dual-band-media-bridge), 1522 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/access-points-range-extenders-and-bridges/dap-1522-xtreme-n-duo-wireless-n-access-point), 1525 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/access-points-range-extenders-and-bridges/dap-1525-access-point-mediabridge), 1533 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/access-points-range-extenders-and-bridges/dap-1533-wireless-n450-mediabridge-access-point) series are some of the home and small business class devices.

That is kind of what I was thinking. 8)
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Hopefully the added wireless traffic will not be too much for it. I'll know within a few days. The rest of my wireless gear arrives today so I'll be installing it tonight.
