I bought this Cloud Router 2000 last Saturday at Office Depot to replace a failed WiFi router. The setup was easy and I was able to set it up to get everything to work. I also registered the product with mydlink and set up an account to use the mydlink cloud services.
On yesterday, I used IE8 to log into mydlink at work. "My Devices" showed my router and was able to connect to my router. (I was gonna to use Firefox, but its Java applet plugin was disabled by default).
But now, mydlink cloud service won't be able to connect to my router anymore at work or at home. I keep getting this error message:
Unable to access your DIR-826L.
If you cannot access your DIR-826L, please check that:
- You have at least 256K of bandwidth
- Your DIR-826L is not being blocked by a firewall or an antivirus program
[/b]
I use Camcast broadband. The speed is way more than 256K.
I am wondering if the router itself blocks the connection.
How can I find out and fix it?
Thanks!

What FW version is currently loaded?
What region are you located?
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.
Is Java up to date?
What OS platform are you using?
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.

Thanks for the followup!
The router came with FW 1.01.
Should I upgrade it to 1.03?
I'm using Win 7 and XP, and running the latest Java (v1.7.0_15).
I tried FF but the java applet plugin is disabled. So I use IE8, where java applet runs with no issue.
Like I said, when I got to mydlink.com to access my router the first time, I could connect to my router. After that, it stopped working.
From what I can tell, when I log onto mydlink.com, the java applet running on my PC just talks to the mydlink server via https. mydlink server tries to connect to my router and sends the info back to the applet. When I see "Unable to access your DIR-826L" error message, it means that the mydlink server can't access to the router, right?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
-
I'm using Camcast Cable. The service comes with the modem. I can find out its maker/model...
-
Lets us know the make and model when you can.
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Try using a different PC or device. Like an iPhone or Android if you have one.

The cable modem's make and model is Scientific Atlanta DPC2100R2
I've just downloaded "mydlink lite" on my ipad. I am able to login and see the router. But when I try to connect to the router, after a long while, I get this error message: "Please check your network settings and try again (0.70_0_2_8_0)".
Does this mean that the modem is the cause of the problem?

Any chance you can take the 826L to say a friend, family or nieghbors place with internet and test on a different modem?
You can place the router on any different ISP and it should connect to the MyDLink services anywhere.
Your Modem is only a few years old, It should be ok. However you might ask your ISP if there is any upgrade options. If you can bring your own modem, I would recommend a Motorola SB 6 Series stand alone modems, i.e. 6120, 6121, or 6141 or 6180. Very good modems and I have 3 of these models and all work well with DLink routers.
I re-connected my 826L last nite after having a DIR-657 online for testing. I did upgrade the FW from v1.01 to v1.03. I used my Mac Book Pro with OSX 10.8.2 and connected to MyDlink and it connected to the router. I didn't come back later to test it has I had to put a different router on line. I'll go back today and reconnect the 826L.
Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link> Cat6 is recommended. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAT6)
Keep us posted.

I would recommend testing router out on different modem first before upgrading FW.
If you do decide to upgrade FW, Please follow this:
FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)
Do not reload any saved configuration files after the update.
-
Disregard my message about upgrading FW. DO NOT UPGRADE TO v1.03. If you have, please downgrade to v1.02.

I had a similar issue with my DIR 605L not connecting to the mydlink service. I contacted support twice and they were useless. So I upgraded the firmware and the device works as it should. Always check your firmware folks. Sometimes you have to upgrade and sometimes you have to downgrade.
