One feature of some models of cameras allow recording to a MicroSD card upon disconnect from the network, but if those cameras lose power, it's useless. Especially if the camera is powered by POE.
I'd like to see a battery back-up in the cameras. That way if the power is cut, they can still record for a brief period.

Your best bet is to get a UPS device (especially on POE).
My router and cable modem, each on their own UPS will last ~90 minutes.
