DIR-655. Never needed to setup a password before so others cannot use mine as a hotspot.
Now I need to. How do I do this? Firmware is current.
Thanks in advance

Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1 and use the on-board set up wizard to help you set up WiFi security and other things or manually set up the WiFi under Setup/Wireless/Manual.

Did that. but only option I found was to set password to administer the router, not to log on or use inrternet access

You have to log on using Admin and the PW is blank. Then either use the Setup Wizard or manually set WiFi with an SSID and PW under Setup/Wireless/Manual.

Thanks, my hang up was getting into wireless securtiy mode and going through scary-sounding acronyms.
Selected apa mode:auto
Pre-shared key is a confusing term but i guessed it as "password"
all is good thanks for helping. God bless you.
