Title: Transferring 4 drives from DNS-323 to DNS-343
Post by: prkhanna on May 02, 2009, 09:00:15 AM
I have 8 drives, all 1TB Seagate drives, and I have 4 DNS-323s running for about an year.

My question is this:  if I get 2 DNS-343s, can I transfer the DNS-323 drives without reformatting in DNS-343?

It would be a week long or longer project to backup, reformat and restore these drives.  So, I am looking for a quicker solution.

Also, is DNS-343 any faster than DNS-323?

Thank you.

Yes they will work but It is not supported operation of the unit. i would recommend a format in the DNS-343. Perhaps you can us one free drive and insert it into the DNS-343 and format then transfer that data over one by one.

The DNS-323 and 343 should get about the same data transfer rates.
