Title: Internet Explorer 10 breaks DNS-325 Web GUI --> Compatibility View Required
Post by: wylajb on March 16, 2013, 06:43:14 AM
This morning, Microsoft prompted me to install IE10 as an "important update."

After installing, I found that the DNS-325 web gui pages no longer worked.  Oh, no.

I looked for ways of activating the "compatibility view" to get IE to work with the DNS-325.

IE is definitely required if one wants to run the "Surveillance Center" add-on, as this only works with IE.

To activate "compatibility view," one needs to look in the address bar of IE10 and find the broken page icon to the right of the url address.

One clicks on the broken page icon to activate "compatibility view."

The broken page icon turns blue when "compatibility view" is activated.

At first, I was directed to an error page, but I reloaded the DNS-325 login page, and it worked.

When I restarted IE10 to try again, I found that IE10 remembered the "compatibility view" setting for the login page.

Wow, that's great.

Thanks for the heads up.

I tried several units, all displayed the logon screen correctly and I was able to enter my password. After that, different things happened on different units. Sometimes I was redirected to an error (500) screen, other times the home screen was present but none of the buttons were active.

Selecting compatibility mode always fixed the problem, sometimes via another error screen. Once fixed, everything seems to work (but I haven't tried everything).

IE10 seems to have some glitches, maybe this is one of them.

I'll add this to the firmware wishlist thread.
