Title: dcs-2132L no longer accessible by dview cam
Post by: RYAT3 on March 17, 2013, 09:58:00 AM
Taking another look at Dview cam today after not touching it for 3 months after initial install.

The dcs-2132L can't connect.

I can to the 2132L  directly... I changed the port as a test..  Port 80 wasn't working originally.

My dcs-2230 works fine on port 1080.  This is also internal network.

I search and it identifies the 2132L on my network just fine.

If I enter the wrong password, I get stopped very fast.  Dview cam can't connect, mydlinklite app stays connected.

If I enter the right password, I get stopped a microsecond slower.. Dview cam still can't connect, by mydlinklite app times out.  So it did get further.  Not using the mydlinklite app has the same results, still can't connect.

I am sure I had the 2132L working when I first installed all the stuff.

*additional - I also disconnected the power to the 2132L and plugged it back in... same thing.

mydlink.com has not worked in while for "Live View"

Tonight I let it continue further, and the connection is lost and it blows out my dlink mobile app.

JRE in use:

Java Plug-in 10.17.2.02
Using JRE version 1.7.0_17-b02 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

It appears no one is able to explain the reason for your problem nor mine either because no one at Dlink is interested in D-ViewCam support or no one else has experienced this problem.  Could it be we are the only two?  >:(

Did you change your default port also?

I know it worked before as I installed the 2132l first and picked up the 5222L days later.

After DLINK rolled out mydlink.com they treat DCAMVIEW like an afterthought IMO.

I really don't see a need for it anymore.

They should discontinue it.

The CPU requirements for it are insane.  I'm surprise my computer hasn't gone into meltdown with all the cycles it eats up.

It must be written in JAVA to perform this badly.

I appear to be the only one using the IOS6 version of D-viewcam on my iPad which is at ver 1.2 and that was just updated yesterday. So, this one can't be written in Java since good 'ole Apple doesn't support it.  As you said, probably going the route of unsupported.

Does anyone know of another non-Dlink IOS app that will support a DCS930?

If it is written in JAVA, its also a security risk. Would show poor judgment on the developers part to use JAVA for an application which is supposed to be secure. Sounds like a complete disaster based on the CPU cycling assuming your computer isn't some netbook.

AMD Desktop Athlon X2 4400+ or something from 2006 on Win XP... a little bit past it's prime.
