Title: unable to load latest (or any) version of firmware
Post by: 1rbb on March 22, 2013, 08:35:27 AM
Hi. I'm trying to load the latest version of firmware (dns320_FW_203) onto my DNS320. It gets so far then produces an error message 'Upload configuration settings file is wrong. Please select a correct file'

This also happens when i try to load version dns320_FW_202
I'm only updating the firmaware to try and fix the 'random' upnp folder sort order. Can anyone help,,,,,
Thanks.
Roger B.

You could probably try to reset to factory settings first (just settings, no need to format HDDs) and then do the firmware and adjust the settings back (you could of course export and import configs but I'd advise to set them manually after FW upgrade)

A common mistake new ShareCenter owners sometimes make is failing to realize that the firmware files downloaded from D-Link are in zipped archives that must be unpackaged prior to uploading in the ShareCenter.

Please see the following FAQ sticky post: ShareCenter - Upgrading ShareCenter Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=49100.0)

Thanks for advise. I had downloaded the file in an unpacked state (30mb). However, for NO reason I can give its actually worked despite umpteen tries prompting my original posting.. Software, hmmmm!!
