Title: DIR-825 Rev.A IPv6 Support? And/or Exchange Options?
Post by: aereus on April 01, 2013, 03:06:40 PM
I purchased a new/unopened DIR-825 router from Best Buy about 1 year ago. One of the selling points was that it would support IPv6. Now I find out that only later revisions of the DIR-825 actually have firmware upgrades to support IPv6, and I received a Rev.A product apparently from 2008, despite buying it in 2012.

Will there be support for IPv6 for Rev.A? Or can I exchange my Rev.A for a supported version?

You'll need to contact DLink support, ask for level 2 or higher support to see if they will exchange it. If not, then your best bet would be to sell it on eBay or Amazon and get what you can out of it and get into a Rev B version. Or get into a more recent DIR 8 series models, like a DIR-857, 827, 836L, 826L.

Rev A's did not get the IPv6 support as it followed on into Rev B and C models.

Good Luck.
