hi
I have the 1.03 firmware version, but other issue related to remote access over the internet:
time by time, the router forget the admin password!
at 1-2 days, the admin password disappear and everybody can connect over the internet without password (only hit Enter or push Login button :))
all other settings are fine (pppoe auth, storage users, port forward, etc.. - nothing lost), only the admin password fly away, so I will exclude a hardware reset
this is the product

What region are you located?
Has a Factory Reset been performed?
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.
When using a PW, try using 8-10 characters or less to test the admin PW.
Try this as well:

Factory reset.. I don't remember, I will do if it is necessary
should I use the button "Restore Factory Settings" from web interface (Tools- System) or the hardware button located on the router?
and after? Can I load the config file saved before reset or should I manually reconfigure all settings?
I am using Chrome, sometimes Maxthon (different computers); the password have 8 chars
the password was set up 3-4 times using both browsers, using remote access over internet or LAN access, different computers and the same thing, disappear after some time
at this moment is still in place, there are ~20 hours from last set up, I have the eyes on it :)

I only show v1.02b11 as being available for the EU region. Where exactly did you get v1.03?
Factory reset.. I don't remember, I will do if it is necessary
If you updated, a factory reset is recommended both before and after sending FW files.
should I use the button "Restore Factory Settings" from web interface (Tools- System) or the hardware button located on the router? Yes use the routers UI or the button.
and after? Can I load the config file saved before reset or should I manually reconfigure all settings?
Depending on your FW version, it's recommended to set up the router from scratch after the last factory reset has been performed. Please follow this for all FW updates:FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)

OK, here's a similar problem from the east-central US with newly purchased DIR-645, H/W A1, F/W 1.03 (flashed from factory F/W 1.01 following instructions given this forum to avoid another security vulnerability). Got everything set up and (apparently) working to my liking, and saved a configuration file. (I can send it if you want to see it.) Then, since I wasn't seeing all of the connected devices listed on the Setup/Network Settings page under Number of Dynamic DHCP Clients (and one was listed that I didn't recognize and that was not permitted on my MAC filtering list) -- the various lists of connections seem pretty flaky -- I decided to cycle power. Immediately after power was restored I could not log on with my previously defined, strong, 15-character password: the password fields were now BLANK and NO PASSWORD WAS REQUIRED to log in! Restored password to original and now logins are normal, but I haven't cycled power again. Will try that later, when my wife lets me take the router down...
This is pretty scary if it repeats every power failure!
Has anyone else seen this issue? -- jclarkw

Can you test with a 3 numerical combination then test with a 10 character number combination to see if this sticks. Then try using alphas only.
I'll test mine and see if I notice anything. The only thing I've notice recently is after restoring the saved configuration file and the router comes back to ready, the PW is blank and thus i'm thinking that the saved PW is not being saved correctly or not at all during the saving config to file operation. This might be a safe thing if a user forgets the PW, the configuration is still saved however the PW isn't thus allowing a safe fall back if the user forgets it. :-\
-
I tested my 645 with v1.03 on my Mac Book today using only 3 numbers, then 15 all numbers, then 15 all alphas, then 15 mixed alphas and numbers together and doing a save and reboot from the UI, and powering OFF then BACK on. Each time I was able to log in using the PW that was saved. I did do a save config to file, factory reset then restore from that same saved config file and the PW was not what I had configured and was defaulted to blank. I presume this could be a safety feature for people whom might forget PWs that were initially set up in the router.

Can you test with a 3 numerical combination then test with a 10 character number combination to see if this sticks...
Well, I tried to reproduce the original problem with the **same** password after dinner and so far have been unable to do so. (My existing password is as complex as I could make it -- 15 characters mixed upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters -- and I have not tried a simpler one since my original experimentation on how much complexity I could get away with, reported elsewhere.) I went through five separate power cycles, unplugging the "wall wart" twice and shutting down the UPS that powers both the router and the cable modem three times, without a password glitch. (During the middle of this process I saved another configuration file and studied various pages to see what connections were reported -- more below -- but I have never attempted to restore one of these configs as I don't really need them.) No idea what was special about the one time that the DIR-645 lost its password, though I haven't controlled for connected devices or very much else...
I **really** appreciate your checking out your own system in parallel with my tests. I guess we can hope that the original post resulted from loading F/W package that was incompatible with the H/W, as you suggested. (I certainly hope D-Link issues a European version of F/W 1.03 soon and that aeon07 posts back with results from testing that!) Anyhow, I'll watch for the problem on my end and post back if it repeats...
I noticed two anomalies during this testing: 1) Sometimes one of my Windows XP computers reported an IP address conflict after the router was powered back up, after which I logged off and on again to make sure it was straightened out. 2) I'm still noticing that the F/W reports flaky lists of connected devices. There seem to be three places where such lists appear: Status/Device Info, which appears to report mostly wired connections, Status/Wireless, which reports only wireless connections and Setup/Network Settings, which is very inconsistent about what it reports under "Number of Dynamic DHCP Clients." Have you observed this? If so I guess we just have to live with it and/or try some other tool like FING to see what's really on the network...
You continue to provide an invaluable service to the communtity (that one might wish were rivaled by D-Link's own tech support!). Best Regards. -- jclarkw

Good idea. Thanks!
One last question slightly off topic: What exactly does Tools/System/"Reboot the Device" do? (I assume it leaves all the settings intact, since there's a separate button for "Restore Factory Defaults.") -- jclarkw

Just reboots the router is all.
-
Just reboots the router is all.
Forgive me for being obtuse, but I don't know what this means or why it might be useful. Equivalent to power cycling? Renews all DHCP leases? Re-connects with all devices and/or WAN? All of the above?
-
Reboots the router and just resets the connections. Does not loose any configurations.

Perfect for de-allocating IP addresses of disconnected devices (cleaning up the DHCP table) and re-assigning free IP's to active devices. Thanks!
P.S. -- This device seems pretty solid. Still no password problems as of this morning... -- jclarkw

Enjoy. ;)

Anyhow, I'll watch for the problem on my end and post back if it repeats...
Well, it happened again this morning: I had saved the current configuration file, changed the setup (just turned wireless off), saved a new configuration file, and then decided to try the power cycle again. On power up, **the password is blank**! Could this have something to do with changing or saving configuration? Is anyone else still seeing this?
I'm very close to returning this unreliable router (whose only real benefit seems to be very long wireless range) and switching to another brand... Disgusted! -- jclarkw
-
Well, it happened again this morning... On power up, **the password is blank**! ...
OK, so a second power cycle (without changing anything) and the password, which I had re-entered in the Tools/Admin page after finding it blank as described in the previous message, is still there.
I haven't tried to explore the entire parameter space of possible combinations (saving configuration, changing configuration, power cycling, others??? -- I've never tried restoring a previously saved configuration), but "the user is strongly cautioned!" I guess I should be glad that this unreliable router (together with my cable modem) is on a UPS...
But now (as commented in an earlier post this thread) the Setup/Network Settings page shows only one host listed under Number of Dynamic DHCP Clients, although there are manifestly three computers connected (and also shown on the Status/Device Info page under LAN computers, although here only one of them has its name listed there). This peculiarity had straightened itself out after the earlier report, but I repeat that this whole accounting of device connections is flaky in the router's Web interface. (I admit that I have yet to try Furry's suggestion to assign permanent IPs to my various devices in the Setup/Network Settings/Add DHCP Reservation feature...)

How many characters was this PW and did it have any special characters?
Since you stated some steps to take to produce this I'll attempt this again on my 645.
What OS platform and Browser are you using currently when this happens?
-
How many characters was this PW and did it have any special characters?
What OS platform and Browser are you using currently when this happens?
I'll collect all apparently relevant information here for completeness:
Password 15 characters, mixed upper/lower case alpha, numeric, and special.
(Since my original tests showed the router would tolerate this maximum length and this complexity, since it remembered the password over an extended period, and especially since I was unable to reliably reproduce password-loss problem -- see prior posts -- I've never tested it with the simpler password structures that you suggested previously.)
DIR-645, H/W A1, F/W 1.03 (flashed from original 1.01), S/N PVU41C2002342
Windows XP SP3 on the only two machines ever used for router administration.
Additional possibly relevant details:
Windows 7 is running on the third computer on LAN.
All three computers have distinct names and are connected to wired Ethernet ports.
The two XP machines have NetBIOS and Messenger disabled -- file sharing between them is via NetBEIU only -- and are each running the Windows Firewall augmented by Windows7FirewallControl. Behind the firewall each shows only Service "msrpc" active on port 135. They do not share files with the Windows 7 machine, which is managed by my wife's corporation and has unknown settings.
There is always a wired Ethernet printer connected with a static IP address of ...101, so the DHCP range of the router is set to begin at ...102.)
One computer with each operating system, in addition to two Kindles, can successfully connect wirelessly while the three wired connections (plus the printer) are maintained -- a total of 7 DHCP connections -- but we are not using any wireless connections right now.
Thanks again for your help. I did fill out a Web form on this issue at D-Link/"Contact Support," but I'm not expecting much since my previous two requests for routine information have received no replies. -- jclarkw

What browser are you using on XP?
Please test your router out using simpler PW combinations.
I'll test your more complex out using my XP box with IE.
Please PM me a sample of one of your more complex PW so I can have an idea of what you are using and will use this has my sample test PW as well.

I use Firefox (currently 20.0, updated frequently), generally from inside Sandboxie 3.76 and always with some security add-ons like NoScript, unless it fails to operate properly on a particular Web site, in which case I have IE 8 available. Either Firefox or IE 8 outside the sandbox seems equally good at accessing the D-Link Web-administration pages.
Until we have figured out a way to reproduce the password-loss conditions reasonably reliably, I don't see what can be learned by trying simpler passwords. Please explain.
I've just PM'd you the password that I've been using for the past week or two. (Please confirm receipt in this thread, since I've never used a PM and don't rely on it. (I've now changed my router to a different password of similar characteristics, which seems to have been accepted equally well, so you don't need to regard it as secret.)
I'll try some more power cycles as I have time -- especially since the password change -- and report results. -- jclarkw

Fuzzy -- I tried several more power cycles after setting the new strong password, but without getting the router to forget it:
Immediately after the new password was set.
After saving another configuration file and powering up while all (wired) connections were unplugged. (Plugging them in one-at-a-time seems to result in a complete report under "Number of Dynamic DHCP Clients" at least sometimes.)
With all connections plugged in. (The DHCP Clients list shows only one this time, although all are listed under "LAN Computers." Again only one shows its name, but all are functional.)
No "joy." How you? -- jclarkw

Brilliant! I think you've nailed it!
Below is my somewhat cumbersome attempt to duplicate your results on my system. Again everything with done IE 8 and Windows XP SP3:
1) Open router Web-admin, paste in current complex password, logged in OK.
**2) Save configuration file.**
3) Enter simple 3-digit password in both new-password fields and save settings.
$$4) Re-boot router from UI.$$
5) Attempt log-in with simple 3-digit password, **log-in failed**
6) Attempt log-in with blank password, OK, password fields are blank.
7) Re-enter simple 3-digit password in both new-password fields and save settings.
8) Close IE and re-open.
9) Attempt log-in with simple 3-digit password, OK.
10) Close IE 8 and @@power down router with push button@@. Power up and re-start IE 8.
11) Attempt log-in with simple 3-digit password, still OK.
**12) Save configuration file.**
13) Paste complex password in both new-password fields and save settings.
14) $$Re-boot router from UI.$$
15) Attempt log-in by pasting complex password, **log-in failed**
16) Attempt log-in with blank password, OK, password fields are blank.
17) Re-paste complex password in both new-password fields and save settings. ##No save configuration##
18) Close IE 8 and @@power down router with push button@@. Power up and re-start IE 8.
19) Attempt log-in by pasting complex password, OK.
20) $$14) Re-boot router from UI.$$ -- unnecessary step
21) Attempt log-in by pasting complex password, OK.
22) Enter simple 3-digit password in both new-password fields and save settings. ##No save configuration##
23) $$14) Re-boot router from UI.$$
24) Attempt log-in with simple 3-digit password, OK.
25) Re-paste complex password in both new-password fields and save settings. ##No save configuration##
26) Close IE 8 and @@power down router with push button@@. Power up and re-start IE 8.
27) Attempt log-in by pasting complex password, OK.
Conclusions:
A) Any change in password immediately following [corrected here] a configuration save does not survive UI reset (failed to test power cycle).
B) Without a configuration save, any change in password survives either UI reset or power cycle.
C) Device is OK with a 15-character password containing upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.
Hence I agree that the configuration save is the step that causes the problem, not the password structure. (I did not directly test the effects of configuration restore. Note that these tests do not guarantee that configuration save is the **only** cause of password loss!)
Short-term solution: If configuration is ever saved, extraordinary measures (TBD) may be required to retain or restore any password change that is made subsequent [corrected here] to configuration save.
Long term solution: A firmware fix undoubtedly required. How do we make sure that D-Link logs this as a real bug that should be fixed in the next firmware version? -- jclarkw
-
...I did not directly test the effects of configuration restore...
OK, I fooled around with configuration-file restoration some this morning. All tests done with IE 8 under XP SP3. Wireless was initially OFF and is used as a simple indication of whether the restored configuration "took":
1) Log on to Web-administration pages with new (current) complex password -- OK.
2) Restore latest configuration file, saved after above password had been set and with wireless OFF, and attempt login with corresponding password -- failed.
3) Login successful with blank password; password fields are blank. Wireless is still OFF.
4) Restore earlier config. file, saved with earlier complex password and wireless ON, and attempt to login with corresponding password -- failed.
5) Login successful with blank password; password fields are blank. Wireless is now ON.
6) Set old complex password (corresponding to this config. file) into password fields, reboot from UI, login OK.
7) Restore latest configuration file again (as in step 2 above) and attempt login with corresponding password -- failed.
8) Login successful with blank password; password fields are blank. Wireless is again OFF.
9) Set new complex password (corresponding to this config. file) into password fields, reboot from UI, login OK. Wireless still OFF.
10) Checked configuration in detail and it appears to be what it should (although I did not at any time restore a config. file for a substantially different configuration).
Conclusion: Restoration of a previously saved configuration file always leaves password blank, probably by design since you might not be expected to remember what password corresponded with what config. file or you might want to share your configuration with another user. (I think FurryNutz said something to this effect elsewhere, but of course it isn't in the user manual...) -- jclarkw

I'll check on this...I don't think I've seen this with other model routers. I'll see if I can get some info from DLink about the 645 and this process. Yes, I did mention that this could be something new or maybe only on the 645. It does make some sense though if they took out the saving of the admin PW, should a user forget the PW, then thats a safety feature. ::)

Furry -- It would be great to know anything more you can find out about **restoring** the configuration file (if that's what you're referring to).
But how about losing the password when **saving** the configuration file? It's hard to imagine that is deliberate, since it leads to a potential and unexpected security risk. Do you have a good mechanism for getting the attention of D-Link regarding new firmware bugs? Is there any use in my trying to badger them also? If so, how? -- jclarkw

Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Should resolve any conflicts...
in my case, I thing there is the bug regarding reserving IP-s from DHCP
I will try a short explanation:
I can reserve one IP from " the section ADD DHCP RESERVATION" and all is fine. But, after the first reservation, I'm unable to set up the second; the combo box from the right side where I can choose the computers from the network begins blank or contains only one or two computers, but can't be selected and added on the left text boxes (using the button <<)
moreover, even the port forward or virtual server can't be set-up, the router did not recognize the computers from the network (combo-boxes are blank or almost empty)
I tried to manually add MAC, name and IP of the computer, but nor working, the router said something "please turn on the computer...", I not remember well (but the computers are online, and the internet work perfect :))
to solve the issue, I must reboot the router (or unplug from the power)
after reboot, I can set a new reservation IP (reboot in need for all IP reservation that I need)
on topic: the password is still in place, no forget and it is about one week
I did nothing from my last post, no reset, no reboot, no reservation IP's, only hour setup (here is another bug on "Daylight Saving Dates", did not keep the DST start and end dates)
the password was set up last time over internet, using maxthon browser (OS windows 7), 8 chars
-
Glad your PW is still remaining. The testing I did seemed to work and remain. I did manage to reproduce the blank password issue. I only use a 3 character simple PW for my needs so I usually don't see any problems. I think we can eliminate special characters and quantity as well since the testing I did seem to keep the PW after doing a full power OFF and ON and using the UI to reboot the router. It's only when the Save Configuration to File comes in to play that we see this behavior.
I have forwarded this on to D-Link. I'll post back if I get any replies.
-
one more thing
after 1 or 2 days after last set up of the password there was 2-3 short power intrreruptions (electrical problems); after this the password remains in place
maybe after password is configured it is a good thing to unplug the power of the router for short time :)
with other models of dlink I experienced some strange things that was solved by unplug and reconnect the power supply (for example, PPPOE settings ok but the router didn't connect; after power disconnect work perfect, without any other modifications)

Thanks for sharing your info.
Hope we'll hear back from DLink about Save Configuration to File Process. ;)
If you experience this again, I recommend that you phone contact your local DLink support office and ask for level 2 or higher support. This will also let them know about this.
Thank you.

Furry -- I posted what I believe to be a distillation of our password-loss experiments in this thread, with some further elaboration based on more experiments, in your "FORUM USER REQUESTS and BUGS" sticky. I don't suppose you ever heard anything back on this?
Its a bit of a pain to have to restore the password nearly every time you save a new configuration file. I worry about he users who don't realize this... -- jclarkw

It has been reproduced at D-Link and they are working on it. Not sure when the fix will come in. Please be patient.

back again
I'm glad to say that the password is still in place and there are few weeks..
but, today I encountered a new issue: the router didn't recognize the admin password (using remote, over internet); I tried 6 or 7 times and not working :(
I tried to login on usb storage using a standard user (already created by me few weeks ago)
the login was ok, I was able to access storage
after, I tried again to login with Admin on the router and surprise: work perfect, the router know again the password :)
I didn't do anything, only login to storage (port 8181) and after login again as Admin (on port 8080)...
-
So you can get to the routers web page however logging in as Admin is not working? ???

I think aeon07 had said previously that he was using F/W 1.03 on his DIR-645.
In my case, when I upgraded the unit that I had bought in the US (Hardware Version A1, purchased through Amazon but fulfilled by somebody else, I think) from F/W 1.01 to 1.03 ("Current Firmware Time: 10/09/12 18:23:00" -- I hope this is really the latest one!), the option of a "User" password and login disappeared. I have only the option of setting an "Admin" password on the Tools/Admin page, and on the login page "User Name: Admin" is grayed out and cannot be changed (all of which is OK with me but somewhat puzzling).
Am I missing something here, or has aeon07 got some odd-ball firmware version? -- jclarkw
-
If he's using the NA v1.03 then this is not supported and could be causing a problem.
v1.04 is new and has been posted for the EU region:
http://www.dlink.com/uk/en/support/product/dir-645-wireless-n-home-router-1000 (http://www.dlink.com/uk/en/support/product/dir-645-wireless-n-home-router-1000)
I recommend following this and trying v1.04 out for the EU region:
FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)
Do a clean factory reset, send the FW file, factory reset once more then setup from scratch.

today happened again
password for admin was not recognized on router web page
I logged to usb storage (as admin, with admin password) and I closed the page
back again to router administration page (where "admin" field is grey) the password works fine
(tried with mozilla and ie, same issue)
so the password stay alive now, but isn't recognized time by time
if I close the admin page, to re-login must follow again both steps, login to storage, close->login to admin page
to be clear, I'm saying about two different router web pages, the standard one for admin setup (where the pass failed) and a second one only for the storage connected to usb router, accessed on the same ip but different port (here the admin account work fine every time)
I see that the firmware 1.04 is available, I will try soon, thanks
only the issue with password bother me, otherwise all is fine, the speed on WAN is more than 80mbps (cable), wireless has good speed (~5-6MB/s), router is stable (Connection Up Time:23 Day 10 Hour 23 Min 36 Sec using pppoe and no restart)
anyway, the router said that there is no firmware update available :) :

If he's using the NA v1.03 then this is not supported and could be causing a problem.
v1.04 is new and has been posted for the EU region:
Furry -- All this regional stuff is confusing. You seem to be saying that the firmware version must be matched to the device (?) region.
Given on-line purchasing from unfamiliar vendors possibly importing directly from China, how do you tell what region your device belongs to?
Or is it sufficient just to use Tools/Firmware/Firmware Information/Check Now to identify the latest applicable firmware? -- jclarkw

Most region HW is specific along with FW due to various regulations regarding WiFi and other items. Usually products purchased in the NA region should be just that, NA region HW, ie. U.S and Canada. I presume that most vendors get there items from DLink directly and would be region specific and correct for that region. Yes, however when you start to deal with online e-tailers like fleabay, Amazon and sites like that, you might run into a gray area where cross region HW is being sold. Most HW has a sticker under the router that has region information, NA or EU or AS or AU. There are a few. This is why I ask everyone who visits where they are located so we can ensure they are using the proper regional FW for there units.
Yes for the most part use the built in FW updater on the HW to check for any updates first. Confirm it with reviewing the main web support web site for the same information as sometimes the updater on the HW doesn't match what has been posted to the web page.

Thanks. The explanation is very helpful.
The main sticker (white print on black background) on the base of my unit has an FCC number, for what that's worth.
The small over-sticker (black on white), in addition to giving the H/W, original F/W, and S/N, says "P/N:BIR645LNA....A1" -- that's "B" as in "boy."
Is that trailing "NA" what indicates my region? -- jclarkw
-
Yes the trailing NA is the region. Ya, seen the BIR on other model routers. Not sure what thats about. ???

Thanks for the heads-up. I know the new NA firmware v1.04 too new to have much experience yet, but is there a central place for discussion of problems (or problem fixes) in it?
Do you have a sense of whether it has fixed any of the issues we have been discussing (especially the vanishing password issue)?

I have been testing with the DIR645 (FW1.04) in the past days. I noticed that it looses the admin password too.
When I changed the settings in the area Setup-NetworkSettings, then clicked on Save. The DIR645 automatically reboots and lost its password.

Was a factory reset, send the FW file, factory reset once more and reconfigure from scratch using IE or FF performed? This issue has been fixed as I've verified it on mine. It should be working for you if you got the recent release.

Ok, thanks. I'll try. I have FW1.04B05 running (which is the newest from D-Link support web site). The newest FW in this forum topic seems to be 1.04B10.
Best regards,

Yes, it should fix that. Keep us posted. ;)

I see that Build 11 has been posted as of yesterday. Not sure what they changed but something is changed:

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=41537.0)
- What region are you located?
- Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
- Has a Factory Reset been performed?
- Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates?
- Was the router working before any firmware updates?
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Factory reset before FW update
Router came with 1.01 installed and did NOT work properly prior to FW upgrade.
Wired and wireless no difference. Wired - XP Pro SP3, Wireless - Win 7 Pro
FF v 22.0, IE 10, Chrome v 28.x - all same result
FW re-downloaded and re-installed, same result

Well I loaded this on my 645 and don't have this problem. I would recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and see if they can trouble shoot more or get this unit into RMA.

Another disappearing password issue?
I just returned from a couple of trips during each of which the LAN (and the DIR-645) was powered down. Just on a whim I tried logging into the router today to review some settings. It would not accept my password but instead would accept a blank password. I have not messed with my configuration, nor saved my settings, for quite a while, so I don't believe the previously documented change-password-following-configuration-save problem explains this.
My DIR-645 is from the NA region. I did update the firmware from 1.03 to 1.04b10 a few months ago. (I have not yet updated to the latest build 11.) At that time I'm pretty sure that I took care to assign the password **before** saving the new configuration and that I verified that the assigned password survived a reboot **after** the configuration save, so I'm wondering:
Has anyone noticed any other unexplained password disappearances lately?
-
I have not. I would like you to update to the B11 version then see if the problem persists. Please factory reset, send firmware, factory reset again, then setup from scratch. Please use iE or FF. Keep us posted.

Will do when my wife next goes out of town. (I can't disconnect her for an extended period while I re-enter all my configuration info... -- jclarkw

I guess in mean time, it would be interesting if you can reproduce this before upgrading FW… :-\

Also, are you still using a complex PW? Can you try a 3-8 simple pw am test again?
