Title: Connection randomly drops
Post by: nozborne on April 05, 2013, 03:40:17 PM
My DIR-615 Revision E FW 5.10na is randomly dropping the connection.  Sometimes it will go days, sometimes it is only hours.  When it drops, the SSID is no longer being seen by any devices (tablets and mobile on Android, laptop on Windows 7 or old PC on XP).  The wired connections remain connected, but connecting a new wired device does not work until power is cycled to the router.  This is not earth changing, but it is a pain in my butt.  My gut instinct was to update the firmware, but there are no updates for this device on from D-Link.  Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I have been having the same problem. I have not had a few days to make certain this sovles the issue, but try going into the wireless settings (advance i think) and change the beacon power to medium, or low if you have a smaller home/apt. my home is about 1200sq ft and it may be an issue of pushing the signal too strong and in a sense "going over the head" of your devices. again, i changed this about 3 hours ago and so far no problems (it was dropping devices though they connect in a sense it wouldnt allow an ip to be assigned about every 20 to 30 minutes). If i experience this issue anymore i will update so as not to leave a false solution, but you could try that and see. hope that helps.
