Hi,
a problem started happening recently (prior to this, everything was fine for at least a few months) in that I keep getting disconnected from the game "Vindictus".
I'm not sure what protocols it uses, but it shouldn't require any configuration on the Router, since it was working fine before.
I upgraded the firmware to 4.13 in an attempt to fix the issue, but it didn't help.
Some people have suggested "Endpoint filtering" to be set to independent, but I cannot find such an option.
Where is the option? I was told it was on the Firewall page, but it is not there (Advanced->Firewall/DMZ).
The router is supplied by Virgin Media (ISP) but I'm not sure if that matters.

What region are you located?
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
Many ISPs hand out non retail versions of DLink routers. These ISP routers sometimes contain ISPs own designed FW and NOT DLinks OEM designed FW.
Some features could differ between OEM and ISP FW.
It's recommended that you get into a retail DLINK router that has these features. You may want to get in to a gaming router as well. You also need a router that has customizable QoS rules as well.
Some suggestions:
DIR-826L, DIR-655, DIR-645, DIR-835, DIR-850L, DIR-855L. I would suggest the DGL-4500 however thats no longer being made and there are but a few used or refurbished ones out there on places like Amazon, eBay and NewEgg. Dlink is forth coming out with a follow on to the DGL-4500 this spring time frame:

You'll need to refer to the Mfr of the game to see if there are any port configurations needed.

Hi,
It's a DIR-615 revD btw.
The firmware is 4.13. I flashed it, overwriting the OEM version (VG 1.00).
It's a Cable ISP - Virgin Media, in the UK.
thanks

Does the v4.13 have customizable QoS rules or just an option to turn QoS ON or OFF found under Advanced/QoS?
If it doesn't have this customizable QoS feature then I recommend getting into a router that does.

This is available in your region and has customizable QoS and NAT features:

thanks for the quick response
the QoS engine page only has about 5 basic options (uplink speed, basically).

What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
Ok, I recommend a different router.
