Title: A device attached to the system is not fuctioning
Post by: brian4591 on April 10, 2013, 08:19:37 AM
OS : Windows Vista Home Basic SP2 32Bit
SharePort Plus V4.1.1.R1

Issue:
Sees network drive on SharePort
"Map Network Drive" seems to work
Clicking "open" brings up this:
\\192.168.0.1\USB(B1)
A device attached to the system is not functioning

I have installed the SharePort on multiple other computers in the house (Windows 7 and 8, 32 and 64bit).  Works on all the other computers.  Just not on this Win Vista.

I have tried rebooting windows.  Reinstalling different versions of SharePort.  Editing the registry of webclient to accept larger file attributes.

Any thoughts?  Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for any help in advance,

Brian

What model router is this USB device connected too?
What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

Has a Factory Reset been performed?

What is the drive size of this USB device?

I presume that if the USB device is working on other PCs and OS's that the problem could be with Vista.  :-\
