I recently moved into my university's dorm.
When I moved in, they helped me set up internet on my laptop via a cable.
And these are the only settings that they've added in order to make internet work:

Then, I realized I need Wi-Fi, so I bought a router. The Dir-415. And I don't know how to set up, so when I start setting up via the router admin panel, I select my connection type as "Static IP". And this is the only settings that work!
I'm not sure if it is the right settings. But I seemed to be able to get WIFI work on my iphone/tablet, but the thing is the connection is very unstable.
I tried using the Dir-415 at home with a PPPOE connection, its smooth and stable as hell.
Please help!

Is this regarding the DIR-415 or the 615?
What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out. How many?

Firmware Version: 3.03WW
Taipei, Taiwan
No cordless house phones. I'm not sure how it is connected.
Its a dormitory, it's just a ethernet jack on the wall. And we connect the cable from that jack to the computer and add the details given on my first post and its connected to the internet.
I used inSSIDer on my android and found 10 Networks. 2 of em aren't really routers, its by the app "Connectify"

Your area is probably Wifi congested with other routers using the same channels. You need to find a clear and open channel.
Also, Try setting Medium or Low power output settings and test again Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
You may need to upgrade to a different wifi router that has 5Ghz and upgrade your device to use 5Ghz for those that can.
