Help pls, Just saw this in the logs.
Apr 30 02:16:13 fan_control: Fan Is Unable To Spin Or Fan Doesn't Exist.
-
Same problem here.
Any solutions or hints?
I'm on FW 1.01
Thanks.

Can you validate if the fan is actually spinning or not?
-
It works fine (I hope so ;) ).
The message is just temporarily appearing, but I'm a little confused about it.

Noticed the same with mine today, fan is doing the normal annoying thing where it runs constantly even though the HDs are hibernated but I'm getting the message "Fan Is Unable To Spin Or Fan Doesn't Exist"
Think this needs to be added to the list of bugs which require a resolution.

Ditto - listed in my log file but working away fine...even present at the time it states it wasn't spinning!

fancontrol script
DNS-320L firmware version 1.02b07
fun plug 0.7

It is a shame to have to change things so basic.

Bump.
Observed in newly-purchased DNS-320L (shipped with firmware 1.01, upgraded to 1.03b4).
Seeing serveral (sporadic) entries in the log looking like:
Nov 18 13:25:08 Fan Is Unable To Spin Or Fan Doesn't Exist.
Fan is working OK; I can see/hear it spinning and feel the air flow. And temperature sensors on motherboard and hard disks report normal temperatures around 38-40 deg.C.
Fan setting in web UI is default "auto" (off/low/high); most of my "unwanted" log entries seem to be after a transition from "OFF" to "LOW"
Regards,
Richard
