Title: Different firmware/software
Post by: KVL on May 01, 2013, 04:53:17 AM
Hey,

is anyone aware of alternative firmware/OS for the 320L. The DLink ShareCentre is simply too poor, old fashioned and buggy - and it doesnt seem that DLINK has any interest in fixing this (based on the frequency the release software (which is also most close to zero..) - we havent seen any bug fixes/requests fixes given by the user). Thou the forum here keeps stating "it is just being finished up and will soon be here". I believe this is only a poor rumor which is not to be changed.

Fun_Plug is also not relavant, tried it but but happy with it. But still a cool project - somebody is trying to improve the poor DLINK software.

So anyone away of an alternative of a linux dist which runs on ARCH which is mature, like Synology, FreeNAS etc, we we can have the deviced upgraded to be a fully functional NAS, and not only stated as text on the wrapping..

/K
