Title: DPR-1260 Experience (5/8/2009)
Post by: narlo on May 07, 2009, 10:16:16 PM
I purchased the DPR-1260 45 days ago because it supports up to 4 USB printers.

Connected to the DPR-1260 are three printers/scanners:

The home network consists of a:
supporting four users who connect to the home network, the internet, printers, and a plethora of other devices via the Linksys WRT54G2. Two laptops are connected to the router wireless and the workstation and other laptop are connected directly via ethernet.

All of the computers are less than 6 months old with the exception of the workstation which is 2 years old.

The performance of the D-Link DPR-1260 is excellent. I've had one configuration issue where recently I changed the printer lineup of the USB ports on the back of DPR-1260 which required the reconfiguration of one of the laptops with the Vista Business OS.

Our family make use of all the printers now. Scanning using the HP DeskJet F4280 is a breeze, the HP DeskJet 9800 is a large format color printer which we can now use for college work and MS Project Gantt Chart printing, and the HP LaserJet 1020 is our workhorse and we cycle through a minimum of 1,000 pages a month.

The DPR-1260 has made a real difference in the way we work. Using it has changed the way we collaborate as a family on projects. We no longer have to swap files or share printers/scanner in order to scan or print to devices once directly connected to a dedicated computer.
