Title: WAN subnet conflicts with LAN subnet
Post by: ahmedladha on May 05, 2013, 07:57:26 PM
I have a DIR-600 that I am trying to configure to use wifi in my house.  I am using a cable internet  IP address, 192.168.0.118.  I followed all instructions to install the router with my pc , after putting all the details:

a. Static  IP address to 192.168.0.118.
b. Set its LAN Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0.
c. Set its LAN Default Gateway to 192.168.0.1

When i try to connect it says : WAN subnet conflicts with LAN subnet

Kindly help to solve this issue.

Thank you in advance.

I am not really acquainted with network, please use simplest words :)

do a factory reset and use the onboard wizard on the router to set up the router. Ensure your PC is using automatic obtain IP addressing. Do Not Use Static IP addressing.

If your WAN IP address is of a 192.168.0.# then you'll need to change the 600 router IP address pool to a different string to 192.168.1.1 for the router and 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.199 for IP address client pool. This should be manually done under Setup/Networking.
