Problem stated in title. The ST2000DM001 is a SeaGate 2TB drive. I ran a long test (and many short ones) on both drives using SeaTools and they always passed. Formats (quick) with gparted and in Win7 work fine. None of the partitions I've tried with the DNS-323 have worked, most hang at 11% and I have to pull power to get the web interface back. Twice it failed at 11% but stayed responsive and I got error codes for "Create hidden partition failed." I went on vacation since I last tried to fix this, so hopefully I remembered everything. Aha! I have a Rev A1 board. (I knew there was something else!)
edit: still forgot something - Using 1.10 firmware
So, what do I try next? I've seen (but not really read) info about fun_plug and ALT-F. Would fun_plug at least give me more error information to work with?
Only relevant threads I've found (no answers though):

I would try using FW v1.08 and see if you still get the error. Delete ALL partitions from the drive if you have manually created some. Let the DNS323 handle it. Is this the only drive in the unit? If not, try removing the other drive.

I have been deleting all the partitions from the drives before trying them. 1.08 firmware hangs at 13%. That's progress right!? I have tried single and double drive formats.
