Title: DIR 655 WIRELESS PROBLEMS
Post by: Navish360 on May 11, 2013, 01:41:30 PM
DIR 655
HW: A4
FW: 1.35NA
Modem: Motorola SB6120

I'm having problems with my wireless connection constantly dropping and have set the optimal settings from the sticky's in the forums, nothing has changed this problem.

-Have changed to a empty Channel. (8)
- TX and RX packets dropping, also some errors.
-All new CAT 6 cabling between router and modem.
-Have tried all different wireless modes.
-Wired clients are working perfectly.
-Changed the DNS servers.
-Already did everything in this post  http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42011.0 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42011.0)

Links>Wireless Installation Considerations (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48327.0) and Managing Signal Congestion (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=53228.0)

Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out. How many?

Is channel 1, 6 or 11 available? You need to use one of these channels.

I have looked at both links you posted and followed them carefully but no improvement on wireless problems.

-Yes,but it is using DECT 6.0
-Plenty of connections in my area about 15+ connections.
-Have changed it to channel 6, that has about 3 people on it.

Seems that you area is congested with 2.4Ghz WiFi, I recommend that you upgrade to 5Ghz WiFi will probably help your wireless problems.

Examples:

Review the Managing signal congestion link information.
Test the router with the wireless radio turned off.
