Title: Accessing D655 after it has been converted to a bridged access point
Post by: mjanssentx on May 16, 2013, 04:09:09 PM: I have 2 DIR-655 that provide me complete wireless access in my home. I converted one of them to a bridged wireless access point by turning off the DHCP and connecting it via cat 5 cable to each other.

Now I want to access that bridged 655 device to update the Firmware and/or change some settings. (I have a Galaxy 4 that has an unstable WiFi connection like everybody else)

How do I get access to that bridged 655? I can look on the primary DHCP 655 configuration screens and see the address for it but I don't know how to get the configuration screen for the bridged 655.

There must be a simple way...but I can't figure it out.

If you have the one 655 in wired AP mode then what ever IP address you gave it will be the new IP address that you can access that units web page. When setting up these in Wired AP mode, you had to have changed the routers IP address from 192.168.0.1 to something else like 192.168.0.50 would be ideal.

What HW version are these units?

I recognize all of the other devices.

Or should I do a reset and start over (and then reconfigure the bridged device again)?

Bridge means there is no wire connection needed between the main host router and the connecting wireless "bridge" device. ;)

Yes, I would start over and follow this:
Turning a router into an AP. (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=40856.0)
Set up a new router IP address that changes the default from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.50.

Post by: FurryNutz on May 17, 2013, 09:21:07 AM: Try using WPA or WPA2, TPIK Only and 20Mhz only and see if this helps. If not, then you'll need to refer to Samsung for help on that.
