Title: Tutorial on Manually Setting Features on the DIR-825 FW for Server Use?

I need some tutorial on setting/optimizing the FW on the DIR-825 Rev B1 and A1 to allow me to maximize communications on my network.   I have a Server and several workstations.   I want to set up VPN features and Remote Access to my network as well as optimizing the transfer speeds within the network.   

I had read that, in order to implement VPN and Remote Access, I need to implement a set TCIP address for at least the server.   Setting the IP address for the workstations is also supposed to help with network speed.   Is this true?   

Are there other router settings I need to implement?

I presume Virtual Server is a good start.
Also ensure that you use a external Gb Network switch to improve performance.
