I realise this has not been officially released in Europe, but was wondering if anyone had installed the latest firmware from the USA site?
Any problems?
Is there a glolbal download, everything I have found says North American.
Thanks

US version in Netherlands: No problem
-
Germany with Rev A2 - no problem at all.
-
Norway with rev A2 - 1.31 seems to have problems with many connections when using uTorrent, the line goes down. With 1.21 I had no such problems.

limit your connection in µTorrent

Sweden, have HW: A2.
No problems with Firmware 1.31 so far.

So you are saying 1.31 can not handle connections like 1.21 did? :-X

That conclusion is hard to make without knowing how many and what kind of connections were made previously (on the 1.21 platform). If you download at torrent with not a lot of upload requests or with a limited bandwidth you will not drown your upload bandwidth. But if you are downloading a very popular torrent bit a lot of upload request you might flood you upload bandwidth and thus killing your download.
There have been absolutely no changes in this part of the firmware AFAIK. Furthermore, if the "line goes down", is it the modem/internet gateway closing down or the router?
This is a symptom, but shows no direct and tangible relationship with firmware version. So please provide some more info/details to pinpoint the issue.

My router has work ok with utorrent under 150 global max connections... DL speed goes over 10MB/s and UL limited to 300kB/s.
-
The basic/default settings for clients like Utorrent is around 150 and that number should work well.
But there are two variables to take into account: number of connections ánd bandwidth allowed by BT requests. Misconfiguring one of those (or both :)) will lock up network traffic.

DLINK is a total mess! >:(
Trying in the DIR-655 to add a port.
When pressing SAVE CHANGES, it does not save it.. Trying to look for a newer firmware for EU, but take a look at DLINK EU homepage, I have never ever seen anything so messy in my life, not even when WWW started..
Take a look at DLINK UK for example:
http://www.dlink.co.uk/cs/Satellite?c=Page&childpagename=DLinkEurope-GB/DLGlobalLandingDetail&cid=1197318962104&p=1197318962104&pagename=DLinkEurope-GB/DLWrapper
Where to find support/download there?

Support, input dir-655 as the model number.
that's actually normal, almost all sites with a similar profile have downloads in the support section

When can we expect a 1.3x version of the firmware for Europe? I would not like to loose the possibility of connecting a 3G modem to the DIR-655...

I have been running the US firmware since i got my A2 unit. I dont think you will ever see a Europe version of the firmware, d-link have never updated regionally firmware just the US ones.

There are many porblems with the 1.31 en 13.32 NA Version. Dlink has not a fix for these problems. Be aware
