Title: IPSEC + ROUND ROBIN NOT WORKING
Post by: fperez on May 31, 2013, 01:28:24 AM
Hi,

We have a DSR-500 unit with firmware 1.06B53_WW working. Initially, we configured it with a single WAN port and acting as VPN Server (IPSEC in tunnel mode).

Some clients connect to the VPN with Windows 7 acting as client and everything worked fine.

Then, we wanted to add a second WAN (Configurable WAN). Our intention is using the WAN1 for the VPN and the WAN2 for the rest on the communicatios.

We have this configuration:
WAN MODE: Round robin
Protocol bindings:
           - IPSEC-UDP-ENCAP and IKE : Dedicated WAN
           - HTTP,HTTPS,IMAP3,POP3,FTP,SMTP : Configurable WAN

With this configuration, the clients can connect to the VPN but the connection get lost every few minutes. We have had the lines checked and they work great (every WAN port is connected to a ADSL router with a different public IP, we use the primary public IP to connect to the VPN).

Changing the WAN MODE to single-wan (WAN1) does the trick and the VPN works fine, but we need to use the bindings abilities of the device to put the non-critical traffic over the secundary line.

Thanks for the help.

I recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and ask for information on this.

Let us know how it goes. Good Luck.
