Title: New computer and no disk for router
Post by: jomcandrew on June 01, 2013, 02:53:16 PM
Hi, I have the DLink router Model 615. It has been set up on my Dell laptop for years. I just purchased a new laptop and after much searching on the computer and papers I find that I am supposed to have the disk to set up the router and I have searched in vain to find it. My new laptop has been sitting on the chair for 3 days now and I would love to get it up and running. I don't remember anything about setting up the router so I am hoping there is someone out there that can tell me there is an alternative to having the disk and walk me through the setup. Thanks.
Joanne

I think I know what the problem is but not how to fix it.  When I go to the wireless network to pick a connection, my connection has a red X on the bottom of it. It says " The steeings saved on this computer for the network do  not match the requirements of the network."  Does anyone know what I may have done to this or how I can get it removed?

Try the onboard setup wizard at 192.168.0.1?

Not to sound dumb, but I haven't used Windows 8 before, so where do I type that?

So I would need to hook it up to get online since I can't get online with the wireless.  It's 12:35 a.m. and I am going to bed. I will try this in the morning and post how it turns out. Thanks for your help.
