Title: connection error both wired and wireless
Post by: ahammadhu on June 02, 2013, 07:25:26 AM
I am living in India and these days power cuts are at max. After one such power cut, my router wouldn't start up.

I left it unplugged overnight and it worked the other day. However now it takes around 5 minutes to start up. The power light comes on very dim and grows brighter, however I have to unplug and re-plug the router for it to start.

But now the problem is I cant seem to find my wifi network, even wired connections are not working. The router config page too is not coming up. I thought this was a power problem but I think if the power is coming on and when all lights are blinking why cant I load the setup page or view my network.

I have tried to  reset the router however its not responding to that too surprisingly. I have tried the 30-30-30 reset too but it didnt work.

I am out of options and I dont really want to buy a new router right now. Is there any way to come out of this?

Thanks

Your router maybe damaged due to the power outages. I recommend that you phone contact your regioinal local D-Link support office and get help there.
Good luck.

Thank you for your suggestion. However after nearly using this unit for 5 years, I think it has come to an end in to its life. I'd rather buy a new one than going for a repair. Thanks for the suggestion.
