Title: Cooling fan usage
Post by: marco_simao on June 05, 2013, 04:38:42 AM
Is it possible to add more options to control the cooling fan.
When my NAS is in standby and the HDDs are off, the cooling fan is working at low speed. The info page says 38º C for the unit and less for the drives.

It is a shame to have to change things so basic.

What I can't understand is why they haven't sorted it from the DNS-320. I purchased one of those 2 years ago and the fan used to drive me mad. I think lots of other users found the same given the amount of complaints posted on here and other forums. I bought the DNS-320L assuming D-Link would have listened to their users and improved the fan control and reduced noise levels, but unfortunately it is just as bad if not worse :(
